What?
A gathering of people who want to discuss how to build a progressive alternative, address social divisions and effectively mobilise people around a positive vision for the future.
We’ll be discussing:
• politics based on freedom, solidarity and social justice • the fight against polarisation, exclusion and hate speech
• effective social and political mobilisation
• the role of the younger generation in public life
• workers’ rights and the future of the labour market
• civic activism and the role of civil society organisations
• how social media and online content creators are reshaping public debate
Over 500 people will take part in the event: politicians, MPs, civil society representatives, activists, and those shaping public debate online.
‘Not a Step Back’ is intended to be a space where participants can meet politicians, activists and representatives of civil society organisations, ask questions, share experiences and make new connections.
We are particularly keen to see young people and groups who, in their day-to-day lives, translate progressive values into concrete social action.
